When Vietnamese people think of young, resilient golf talent, the name Nguyen Anh Minh will be the first comes in mind. But what sets Minh apart is not just his Top 37 ranking on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) or being Vietnam’s No.1 golfer — it’s the fact that he chose a place big enough to nurture his dream from the beginning. Today, that dream has become a symbol of national pride on the global golf map.
2018 – A SERIOUS START WITH EPGA & COACH GAVIN SUTHERLAND
In 2018, at just 11 years old, Minh enrolled in the Els Performance Golf Academy (EPGA) and trained under PGA coach Gavin Sutherland. From his first days at the academy, Minh arrived early every morning, fully focused on refining every swing. His seriousness quickly stood out, prompting Coach Nguyen Thai Duong to recommend that Minh’s family move to Ecopark to fully access the most professional training environment.

ECOPARK – CHOOSING A PLACE BIG ENOUGH FOR A BIG DREAM
The family made a pivotal decision — they relocated to Ecopark, home to EPGA. This decision unlocked Minh’s potential. With access to world-class facilities like the short game area, Trackman range, 9-hole strategic training course, and well equipped golf fitness gym, Minh finally had the structured environment he needed to grow.
From that moment, EPGA became Minh’s second home. He showed up every day from 7:00 AM to 7–8:00 PM. Even after long international tournaments, just 2–3 hours after landing, Minh would be back on the range. Rain or shine, in or out of competition, his dedication never wavered.

MILESTONES THAT MADE HISTORY – AND A NATION PROUD
Minh has written a new chapter for Vietnamese golf through a series of remarkable domestic and international achievements:
- Vietnam National Junior Champion (2020–2024), dominating tournaments like VJO, Vietnam Junior Open, Bamboo Airways, and Pioneer.
- Winner of the Lexus Challenge 2022 — the first Vietnamese amateur golfer to win a national professional championship, breaking the tournament scoring record with a 5-under-par performance.
- Silver medalist (individual) and bronze medalist (team) at SEA Games 31 (2022, Cambodia).
- Champion of the Nomura Cup 2024 (Asia-Pacific Amateur Team Championship) — leading Team Vietnam to its first-ever victory, and winning the individual title at -12 total strokes.
- T7 finish at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship 2023 — the best performance by a Vietnamese golfer in the event’s history.
- Silver medalist at the 2025 US Junior Amateur Championship, becoming the first Vietnamese golfer to reach the final of a USGA event, and the deepest run by an international player that year.
- Currently ranked Top 37 in the world (WAGR) — the highest ranking ever achieved by a Vietnamese golfer, leading the Asia-Pacific region.

INSPIRING A GENERATION: JUNIOR & PARENTS
Minh’s journey has gone far beyond individual accolades. It has sparked inspiration across Vietnam:
- Young golfers now believe that starting from humble beginnings, they too can reach the global stage — if placed in the right environment.
- Parents increasingly trust that EPGA is a place worthy of their children’s dreams, especially those who aspire to pursue golf professionally.
- And when Minh played in the US Junior Amateur, thousands of Vietnamese fans stayed up through the night watching — proof that sport, especially golf, can awaken national pride and future belief.
Minh once shared: “I hope young kids in Vietnam saw me on USGA or US Junior broadcasts, and that one day they’ll look back and say: ‘We have a chance too.’”

EPGA – ALWAYS BEHIND THE BIGGEST DREAMS
Through every phase of his journey, EPGA has remained quietly supportive:
- A truly world-class training ecosystem, with every piece of equipment — from short game area, Trackman range, and strategic 9-hole course to golf-specific fitness facilities — contributing to Minh’s growth.
- Silent partnership: Minh is no longer an official student, but EPGA still grants him full access, allowing him to maintain top form and train at the highest level daily.
- A dream-building environment, where committed young athletes find a place to grow, evolve, and build their victories day by day.
